The NSW Golf Foundation is a sub-committee of Golf NSW. It meets four times a year to review applications for funding from clubs and individuals who may be facing hardship or difficulties of some kind.
Information regarding grant guidelines and application forms can be found from the links below.
Mission Statement
'As distinct from the respective golf Associations in NSW, the role and mission of the NSW Golf Foundation is to raise additional and incremental funds through tax deductible donations which are to be allocated in the form of grants to applicants with any requirement that is deemed to build a strong and vibrant future for golf in NSW.'
What does the Foundation do?
The NSW Golf Foundation encourages the participation and development of the game of golf when barriers such as location and adversity may otherwise prevent people from taking part. The vision is to build a bright and vibrant future for golf.
The sport of Golf in NSW is an institution that enjoys membership and social participation to a magnitude rarely matched by any other sport. As a consequence the administration of the game faces a multitude of challenges to ensure that the great traditions of golf in NSW continue to be managed and developed.
The NSW Golf Foundation is the charitable body that administers and manages fundraising and grants for the NSW golfing community. Through the Foundation grants are awarded to individuals, projects, programs and services which benefit both golf and the community.
The NSW Golf Foundation is about DRIVING GOLF FORWARD by building and enhancing the sport for all participants.
Board of Governors
The NSW Golf Foundation is an independent entity with its own Board as listed below:
Mr Chris Allen (Chair)
Mrs Sue Fabian
Mr Jim Glenday
Mr John Robinson
The Governors of the Foundation work to source new sponsors and donors and assess all applications for grants and the allocation of sponsors or donors funding.
A financial base is being established with a view to using the interest to provide grants. The Board seeks the support of clubs in building awareness of the Foundation and its objectives to its membership.
The NSW Golf Foundation & The Australian Sports Foundation
The NSW Golf Foundation is a registered project with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) which was established by the Federal Government to assist organisations to raise funds through public and corporate donations for the development of sport in Australia.
Pursuant to the ASF listing in the Income Tax Assessment (1997) (Division 30, Sect 20-90), donations of $2.00 AUD or more to the Foundation are Tax Deductible.
Donors must contribute unconditionally to the ASF to claim a tax deduction, however the ASF’s structure makes it possible for you to indicate an approved project as the preferred beneficiary of your gift, which in this case is the NSW Golf Foundation.
